Are you happy? Wait. Don't answer.

I'm not sure if we're qualified to determine our own happiness. Often, we look back and realize we were happy.

What if we are happy right now?

Imagine that.

i think we know when we're happy
it's just that things never look that bad in retrospect.
i know that if i'm sad, i know it.
Maybe retrospection is just one skewed process.
perhaps we always know exactly what's going on.
maybe the past is just viewed with rose colored glasses.

the day my life changed was the day I decided to be happy.

i'm trying to figure out what your post means or actually asks...

we can't settle on being unhappy (especially us atheists), time is too precious. so, don't punt---you have to constantly ask if you are happy right now. and if you are not sure, well, that might be all you need to know. who was that who told me to savor life like a chocolate?? the corrollary is that when you get one with a disappointing filling--put it back in the box and grab another.
hope your weekend has been happy.
